From its humble beginnings through to its Gothic Revival transformation\, you’ll discover the stories woven into its history – and learn about the people who have worked\, lived and died here.  \nWe are delighted to welcome Dr Peter Lindfield FSA from Cardiff University\, who will be sharing his expertise on George Shaw\, exploring his architecture and furniture design.  \nLibrary staff will also be bringing history to life with stories about the building’s changing role within the village\, and the people connected to it over the years.  \nThere will be lots of fun activities for all the family\, making it a day not to be missed!  \nThe library has accessible access through the main front door. SUMMARY:Open Days at Holy Trinity Church Dobcross
DESCRIPTION: \n\n\nPick up our booklet containing a brief history of the church and tour the building at your own pace. Admire the original three-sided gallery with its box-type pews\, small chancel and central West Tower. The tower is flanked by porches with swept coped parapets and ball finials. The top stage of the Tower is in the Italianate style with arcades and clock faces. The Historic Graveyard is open all day. \nThere is a slight downhill gradient on the stone path to the entrance of the church. Visitors should take care as some of the gravestones adjacent to the church entrance are smooth and can be hazardous in wet weather. Warning notices are posted. \nThere is street parking on Woods Lane and Nudger Green. \nOpen Monday to Sunday 10am-4pm throughout the Oldham Histories Festival.
