A chance to show your work as part of an exciting exhibition at Gallery Oldham

Pick up your paintbrush, fire up the kiln and get snapping with that camera! This is your chance to showcase your work as part of The Oldham Open 2024. The exhibition is open to artists of all ages who live, work or study in Oldham.

Artists may submit one or two pieces of work and we welcome work in a variety of media, such a drawings, paintings, photographs, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, sculpture, film and video. Previous submissions will not be accepted.

Please complete the entry form and submit it with your work when you deliver it to the Gallery (or download the PDF version here). The information you provide will be used for your gallery label, so please print clearly and check all spellings and prices etc. Please complete all sections of the form. Do not write your contact details on the back of your submitted artwork.

Painting, prints, drawings, photographs, framed textiles.

Works must be framed with mirror plates attached for display (see diagram). Clip frames will not be accepted.

Sculpture, ceramics, un-framed textiles and other media.

Works should be delivered ready for display, with any necessary fixings. We have a limited number of cases for small decorative work so you may wish to present small objects, such a jewellery, in a frame that can be fixed to the wall. We welcome multi-media works, such as video or sound pieces. However we have limited facilities so please submit a detailed technical description of your requirements by 5 September and we will try to accommodate it. Please email: galleryoldham@oldham.gov.uk

We will make every effort to show your work but we may be restricted by space if we receive a very large number of submissions. We may not be able to show large works that could obscure other works or be difficult to install. Gallery Oldham reserves the right to reject work that is potentially offensive to our visitors. The gallery’s decision is final.

All work must be clearly labelled with the artist’s name and title of the work securely attached e.g. on the back of the frame.

Do not include your address/phone number here. If you supply this personal information we may not be able to remove it if your work sells, so a buyer will have your personal details.
