Batik Workshop with Soleil Dee
April 13 @ 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Batik is the art of creating designs on fabrics using resist techniques. In this new workshop you will work with an artist to design and create your own textile pieces.
Please be aware there is a lunch break in this workshop but lunch in not provided.

Approximate timings
10.15 – Arrival and refreshments
10.30 – 10.40 – Start & introduction to me & materials/ what we’re doing today
10.40 – 11.00 – Up to gallery spaces for sketching idea development
11.00 – 11.30 – Batik One waxing (small taster piece on cotton)
11.30 – 12.15: Tea towel or tote bag waxing
12.15 – 13.00: Lunch (this gives the fabric time to take the dye) participants are welcome to do smaller pieces too
13.00 – 13.30: Hand Painting their taster piece with inks we have in the education suite and letting their main one dry
