Digital Offer

Would you like to get online but need help accessing a device, connection, and some guidance to get started?

We have support available in Oldham Libraries.

Greater Manchester Databank

The databank application form has been taken down temporarily. We do not currently have data in stock. We hope to have the form back up mid-July. You can find a map of other support hubs here.

Oldham Libraries have partnered with the Good Things Foundation, to offer data packages to those who are digitally excluded.

To receive data at Oldham Libraries through the Greater Manchester Databank you must:

  • Be 18+ years old
  • Live in Oldham
  • And be from a low-income household

You must also qualify in one of the following categories:

  • Has no access or insufficient access to the internet at home
  • Has no or insufficient access to the internet when away from the home
  • Cannot afford their existing monthly contract or top up

A person can have access to data for up to 12 months.

Digital Drop-in

A digital drop-in takes place at Oldham Library on Wednesdays, 9am – 12pm

Bring in your device or digital query for 1-1 support.

Donate IT Oldham

Donate IT Oldham aims to help our most vulnerable residents get online by providing refurbished devices such as used laptops, smartphones, and tablets that businesses and members of the public no longer need.

When surveyed almost 40% of Oldham residents said they, or someone they lived with, experienced some form of difficulty getting online because they lack suitable digital devices and internet connections at home.

Donate IT Oldham is committed to reducing this figure and helping as many residents as possible.

We need your support

Please get involved and donate any unused or unwanted devices at any of Oldham Council’s libraries. We will then refurbish them and make sure they find a new home with someone across the borough who really needs it.

Back up any data before you drop it off and do a factory reset. We’ll do the rest. Anything we can’t refurbish will be recycled.

Items we can accept include:

  • Laptops (Windows and Mac)
  • Desktops (Windows and Mac)
  • Tablets (Android & iOS)
  • Smartphones (Android & iOS)
  • We also accept old-style mobile phones and game consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation
