Waiting Patiently – Discovering Disability History on Film
September 18 @ 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Join us for a screening of a curated selection of North West Film Archive films that reflect the lives of disabled people in the North West.
This specially curated selection of films reflects the hidden stories and diverse experiences of disabled people in the North West using the North West Film Archive collection.
The films provide insight into what life has looked like for disabled and/or neurodivergent people in the region. Selected from the archive to focus on everyday life, the films celebrate disabled people in the workforce, learning new skills, enjoying leisure time, playing instruments and cards, and eating together.
The films span the 20th and 21st centuries and were made in a variety of film formats, locations and styles.
Booking essential via Eventbrite.
This event is part of Oldham Histories Festival 2026.
