Gallery 4

Over the past fifteen years we have presented almost 100 different exhibitions in the Gallery 4 community space.

We have featured work by a wide range of groups and individuals.

Solar Maximum’, Amber Queally

25 January – 8 March

Working alongside Simon Tang (AKA ‘The Stupid Astronomer’) Amber’s work dives headfirst into exploration of how our universe works and spurred on by a dose of sunburn during lockdown, began studying the phenomena of “space weather” and the effects that different solar cycles & activity can affect us so profoundly here on Earth.

‘Myth and Moor’, Sophie Tyrrell

15 March – 28 April

The surrounding moorland provides the backdrop for Oldham based artist Sophie Tyrrell as she playfully grapples with the myth of progress. Dramatic carnivalesque scenes are animated by costumed creatures, using traditional crafting materials and brilliant colour.
