Over the past fifteen years we have presented almost 100 different exhibitions in the Gallery 4 community space.
We have featured work by a wide range of groups and individuals.

‘Myth and Moor’, Sophie Tyrrell
15 March – 28 April

The surrounding moorland provides the backdrop for Oldham based artist Sophie Tyrrell as she playfully grapples with the myth of progress. Dramatic carnivalesque scenes are animated by costumed creatures, using traditional crafting materials and brilliant colour.
Pedestrian by Emma Blackburn
10th May – 26th July

Steeped in contrasts between movement and stillness, Pedestrian is a retrospective of textile-based works by artist/maker Emma Blackburn. Her work explores relationships and family history through opposing materials: hard and soft sculpture, striking colours, pressed flowers, basic shapes, and reflective surfaces.
Palettes to Spray Cans by Bill Eiffert,Deggy, Dylan Lisle
2 August – 18 October

This group exhibition from members of 1853 Studios,
explores the evolution of painting from the 16th century Renaissance through to contemporary pop culture and street art. By presenting works from these diverse periods side by side, the exhibition invites viewers to trace the progression of artistic thought, technique, and cultural influence over five centuries.

Gallery 4 Selection Panel
There is also opportunity to be part of the panel that chooses our Gallery 4 programme. The panel meet up to twice a year and look through the submissions to choose a diverse exhibition programme. To apply to join the panel please email your expression of interest to katie.maden@oldham.gov.uk
