A foraging walk around Northern Lily Community Orchard
Join us for a gentle walk around Northern Lily Community Orchard, tracing an East to West Journey that began thousands of miles away, centuries ago. As we wander around the Community Orchard we’ll travel through time to discover what bears have to do with cultivating tasty apples, horticulture of the Greeks and Romans, how fruit trees travelled the Silk Road to become part of the British Landscape and how Victorian Horticulture perfected root stock and new cultivars that feature in orchards today. This walk blends movement, storytelling, harvesting and tasting fruit from our many heritage fruit varieties on site celebrating the community orchards
